Deduplicating Address lists

By Deduplicating your address lists you can often save the cost of this software when you next use the Mailsort or Presstream services of Royal Mail. If you cleanup your files and remove duplicates you will save on the cost of mailings and avoid irritating recipients who would otherwise get more than one copy.

Deduplication is required whenever two or more lists are merged, or when a list has been in existence for some time. A special use for deduplication involves finding and then deleting address records from a mailing list which have been barred from receiving a mailing. This includes addresses which are on the Mailing Preference Register, or on the Bereavement Register.

FEATURES
    * Works from a standard CSV file of names and addresses
    * Creates a special deduplicating key made up of the Mailsort selection code (or the country code
      for overseas addresses) followed by the name and initials (or a user specified field if required)
    * Displays the duplicates (addresses with the same key) so that they can be edited or deleted
    * Allows the original file to be saved; without any duplicates; or without any repeats; or as edited
      (duplicates manually removed)
    * The duplicates can be saved in a separate file if required
    * Fast processing as the whole list is loaded into memory

OUTPUT FILE OPTIONS
    * Edit the list of duplicates by choosing the best of each group and delete the others i.e. delete
       duplicates on the fly - click on Delete speed button
    * Get your mailing out quickly, by saving the file without Repeats - click on SWR speed button. A
       new file is automatically produced without the Repeats
    * Save the file without any of the duplicates - click on SWD speed button This removes all
      matching records from a file; a requirement when matching against an MPR file
    * Save only the duplicates, in a separate file - click on SD speed button. Useful if you wish to
       keep a copy of the duplicates for record purposes or for sending to a client

OTHER OPTIONS
    * You can change the Deduplication key
    * You can make a new Deduplication key based on one field
    * You can remove a set of duplicates from the selection
