Codeplus
CodePlus is one of the programs available in the Mailkit suite. It enables you to:
* select specific addresses for mailing, selecting and rearranging their fields as necessary, and
produce an output file ready to be Mailsorted and printed with the Mailkit label printing program;
* rebuild mailing list files by adding, omitting, rearranging, splitting or combining fields before
saving them as revised lists.
* deduplicate mailing lists by identifying address records with identical or very similar contents.
Most database programs will output data in the form of a CSV file (comma separated variable) and CodePlus will accept any of these. It also accepts files created by the mailsorting process – containing international addresses, or addresses without valid postcodes. CodePlus can also extract addresses directly from a Quicklist database without the need to save the addresses as a CSV file.
There are two stages to running CodePlus:
* selecting the fields required in the output file (selecting specific types of address if required)
* saving the file in the required form.
When you start CodePlus you will see two panels on the screen. Each panel consists of 32 blank fields (64 in the Professional version) which can display the contents of one record at a time from a selected address file. When you open an address file, its fields appear in the left-hand panel. Fields from this address file can then be selected and moved over to the right hand panel, compiling there the information in the form required either for printing address labels, or for creating a new output file.
CodePlus has additional optional features which are described in the pages on Deduplicating and on Mailkit Professional.
